Any other graphics controller doesn't cause access violation. When i set graphics controller to None, it crashes on stopping virtual machine.

#Virtualbox 6.0.8 windows error full

I am running a full box with 200+ machines where I believe there may be unnecessary overhead with a Graphics Adapter. Perhaps configuring a guest with "invalid settings" may be the issue, but I have had no issues with running a guest without a graphics controller. Multiple Virtual Machines power off as expected. I am also having an issue where clicking "Show" on a guest without a Graphics Controller causes issues.ĭowngraded to VirtualBox 6.0.4 to fix this issue on a production server. I attempted to power off a couple dozen Headless Virtual Machines at once and my Host hung from attempting to restart the Virtual Machines. VirtualBox starts the guest again, and reports a memory error, where I have to end the process to fix this issue. Configuring the guest with 5MB Video Memory and a Graphics Controller will allow proper function. Powering off a machine will cause VirtualBox 6.0.6 to behave erratically and unresponsively. You take my complaints too personally, buddy.I have set the following options on Virtual Machine(s): Why can't you accept the fact that the problem could be the VB itself and this could be the regression bug? The fact that you get so upset and emotional over me posting here and sending me to "google" (instead of actually being able to help me) just confirms my suspicions. I have already described above why I am suspicious and don't want to accept this so called "fact".

#Virtualbox 6.0.8 windows error upgrade

Heck, I would have stayed on the current version if the upgrade installer simply failed, but NO, it had to delete my working version first. Which makes me believe that "millions of happy windows users" stay on older versions and avoid the new ones. Well, when I was googling for a solution to set up a static IP as well as mounting local folders to virtual ones (which did not work by the way), I had hard time doing so, since the majority of solutions were for older VB versions (<6.0). This thread was linked when I posted a similar issue.

Guess, the software is simply poorly ported to PC and should neither be advertised nor recommended to windows users (since it results in people relying on it and losing their work eventually).

virtualbox 6.0.8 windows error

Just because a windows user is not as "advanced" as a linux one and not as "cool" as a mac one. Or this is just a regression bug that nobody bothers to fix. I just assume that a solution is either super easy (like a checkbox somewhere in registry) and nobody bothers to post it to make a windows user feel bad and suffer.

And yes, none of them detected any problems with my installer.

#Virtualbox 6.0.8 windows error update

I am not sure how windows installer work, but I am pretty sure that installation file has to be compatible and this could very well be a regression bug.Ī) it only happens to VB (NEVER experienced it with any other app and I am experimenting with various software on a weekly basis), especially considering the fact that I only installed it a month ago (successfully) on a recently "back to factory settings" windows machine and the first ever update failed ī) none of the provided solutions work (and yes, these solutions make you do ridiculous things like disconnecting your laptop battery, etc).
